Hi!

My name is Dunja and I am committed to helping your child learn and love Serbian!

As a mom of two children growing up in a dual language household, I am passionate about passing my ancestral tongue down to my children. Not only because I want them to be able to speak and understand Serbian, but also because I know that language learning in early childhood, simply put, makes kids smarter. It helps them figure out how to solve problems based on context cues, it quite literally teaches them to use different neural pathways, and it teaches them empathy - the ability to understand another perspective, another culture.

As an experienced educator, it is my ultimate goal to make every Serbian class warm and welcoming while ensuring children are learning and building their confidence.

I am an OCT certified teacher, with over 15 years of teaching experience in public schools in Mississauga.

My Masters Degree in Education and Specialization in Exceptionalities in Learning help inform my pedagogy - I am dedicated to ensuring every lesson is universally accessible to learners, at all ages, and honours every child's unique talents and journey.

My years of teaching French as a Second Language experience mean I have many tricks up my sleeve to keep children engaged and focused on learning an additional language. I have spent many years honing my craft to make the study of French fun for learners, and I now joyfully bring that expertise to the study of Serbian.
